Court hears man threatened to rape Garda

A dangerous driving court case in Naas District Court heard the accused threatened to rape a Garda.

According to a report in the Leinster Leader the claim was made by Garda Supt Martin Walker during a case involving Lee Fagan of 310 Woodlands, Castledermot, Co Kildare.

Fagan appeared at Naas District Court on January 28 to face four charges of dangerous driving.

The barrister for Fagan, Sarah Connolly, submitted to the court that her client was a "changed man" following the incidents on June 12 last year.

However, Supt Walker told the court that Fagan "threatened two of my staff and that he would rape them."

He also added that he believed Fagan had a high risk of offending.

Fagan was clocked doing 219kph and he also crossed the solid white line on the date in question.

Fagan was convicted of four counts of dangerous driving and he received a five-month sentence for one offence and a consecutive sentence of similar length for another.

He was also disqualifed from driving for four years.
