CONFIRMED: Johnny 'Mad Dog' Adair's son found dead in Scotland
It has been confirmed that a son of notorious loyalist terror boss Johnny 'Mad Dog' Adair has died.
Well-placed sources close to Adair have said the former leader of the UFF's 'C company' on the Shankill Road is "devastated".
It is understood that Jonathan Adair had been released from jail just days ago.
In a statement, police in Scotland said they were called to a property in Templehill, Troon, South Ayrshire, after reports of a body shortly after 5pm on Saturday.
Johnny Adair Sr currently lives in the Troon area.
Police said a postmortem will be carried out.
It is still not clear how Jonathan Adair Jr, 32, died.
Jonathan, known as 'Mad Pup', was shot in both legs just before his 18th birthday in 2002.
He was shot through both calves in Florence Square, not far from his lower Shankill home.
At the time it was widely accepted that Adair senior knew of the attack before it had taken place, or had even ordered the shooting himself.
The previous year Jonathan was injured when a car load of republicans tried to kidnap him.
