I’m so pi**ed off about fake porn pix

I have to say this is a bit of a weird one to be writing about!

It came to my attention this week that my face has been superimposed on different bodies and the images are being shown on a few porn websites.

Nine well-known Irish women have had their faces Photoshopped on to pornographic images.

Miriam  O’Callaghan, Rachel Allen, myself and Kathryn Thomas are just some of the women who have been targeted. Miriam O’Callaghan is a legend and she was none too pleased when she found out.

I haven’t actually seen any of the images, but it’s fair to say that I’m p**sed off about the situation. If I wanted to do porn I would have done porn, but it’s not an industry I want to be associated with and unfortunately there is very little I can do about these images.

They’re on the internet for all to see and many people will believe that it’s actually me and that my phone was hacked or something. I have never sent any nude images to any boyfriend, or anyone else for that matter, so if you see a photo you can be assured that it’s not me. I’m not upset about it, but I feel annoyed that I can’t do anything. I don’t want an image like that of me circulating online.

What can I do if a potential employer sees that and just strikes me off because they believe the image to be me? I wrote about revenge porn and incidences just like this one a few months ago, and Ireland is slowly changing the laws surrounding this.

The only problem is that once an image is online it begins to circulate quite quickly, so it becomes impossible to take it down from every site that has it up.

Revenge porn is becoming a huge issue in our society, with countless numbers of scorned lovers out to get revenge in one of the nastiest ways possible.

A porn website will take on almost any image or video as long as the person is above the age of consent.

One of my shows from my new series focuses a lot on revenge porn and the dangers of the internet. It’s mainly women that get targeted just like I was recently. Some of the women I spoke to had their lives ruined by an ex who decided the best way to feel better about the demise of their relationship was to ruin the other person’s life.

I don’t think the laws surrounding things like this are strong enough and we aren’t moving quickly enough to change them either.

If a person Photoshops an image to make someone look bad and then releases it to a porn site, surely this is the same as libel and slander and should be punishable by law in just the same way.

What a week!

THIS week was fun and I have some really interesting news.

Well, it’s work-related but it’s super-exciting and as soon as I can spill the beans I will.

I spent all week working but had a lovely night out on Wednesday evening with my friend Ricky when we went to the Dogs Trust charity dinner.

They raised so much money at the dinner for such a great cause. I am a huge dog lover and have a dog, Winston, so I couldn’t wait to go along and support the charity. I had such a laugh with Ricky.

We’ve been friends for over 10 years after we met in Aberdeen at University.

It was quite funny after as the papers linked us as a couple, but I can assure you we are just the best of friends.

I think people find it weird that I’m enjoying being single, but I am and I plan on staying like that for a while! I think with being single I can be a little bit more selfish.

It’s obviously not a great trait but I’ve loved being able to totally focus on work and not worry about a relationship for a while.

I headed back to Dublin on Friday to film for Republic of Telly.

I love working with the crew from that show and the script is always so funny.

This episode won’t be out for a while but I filmed one last month that will be on RTE2 at 10pm, so be sure to check it out.

I’ll be at an antiques fair where I had to come across as completely clueless.

I don’t think people knew what to make of me! I was on The Late Late Show (right) on Friday evening to talk about my new series that airs next Tuesday at 9.30 on RTE 2.

I always love being on The Late Late. It’s such an iconic show and I can never quite believe that I get to go on it as a guest.

I love Ryan and always have a laugh with him.

I brought my mom and my aunties, so we had a great time.

I had the day with my family on Saturday; my mom and stepdad are home from Spain so we all hung out, and my brother brought my niece Jeanie up too.

It was a really perfect day off and my favourite thing to do whenever I get any time to myself is to spend it with my family and friends.
