Stars In The Sun is an all-star show that will run for a week in the four-star Gran Cervantes Hotel in Spain’s Torremolinos this May.

Hosted by the Sunday World, it features legends like Red Hurley and Paddy Cole, and is sure to be a great week of fun with lots of fans already signed up to travel on the trip.

Singer Dave Lawlor, who is currently enjoying success with his album, The Kingdom I Call Home, says he is looking forward to this special event.

“It’s going to be one of the highlights of my year,” says Dave, who will be joined on the trip by Ronan Collins, Gina from The Champions, The Swarbriggs, Shaun O’Dowd, Richie Sampson’s Drifters Show, Stuart Moyles, Kenneth Smith and Shay Byrne of RTE’s Risin’ Time.

Dave’s album is a collection of his personal favourites with some new songs, and is available in all good record shops nationwide.

A huge fan of the showbands, Dave tapped into the hits from that golden era in Irish music and dancing and introduced them to a whole new generation of fans.

Under the guidance of two of the legends of Irish music management, Noel Carty and Willie Carty, he became a chart sensation in the early 1990s with a medley of showband hits called Nostalgia Time, which reached number two in the Irish charts.

Dave also teamed up with legendary songwriter Roberto Danova, who wrote Joe Dolan’s biggest hits, including Sweet Little Rock ’n’ Roller, I Need You, Sister Mary, More and More and It’s You, It’s You, It’s You.

The Kingdom I Call Home is out now in shops nationwide. For more information on the Stars In The Sun trip go to or (01) 5175990.
