Cocaine, cannabis and 1,500 ecstasy tablets seized by Gardai

Gardai in Galway have seized quantities of three different drugs following the search of a premises in the city.

Gardai from the Galway Drug Unit searched a house at Ballinfoyle Park, Headford Rd, Galway yesterday.

During the course of the search Gardai discovered 1,500 ectasy tablets with an approximate value of €15,000, herbal cannabis with an approximate value of €10,000 and cocaine with an approximate street value of €5,000 (all the above subject to analysis).

A 20-year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Mill St Garda station in Galway under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

This is the second drug seizure in Galway in less than 10 days.

Last week, €8,000 worth of ecstasy powder was seized by gardai after they stopped a car on the M6.
