A clergyman has been charged with eight voyeurism offences after men were allegedly filmed in public toilets

The Very Reverend Martin Thrower was brought into custody and charged with the offences on Tuesday, Suffolk Police said.

The 55-year-old, of Church Street, Hadleigh, is rector of Hadleigh, Layham and Shelley.

He was initially arrested in Ipswich on suspicion of voyeurism on August 4.

He was interviewed and bailed, then formally charged on November 15, following an investigation.

The eight alleged voyeurism offences relate to incidents dating back to 2014 and include six alleged offences this year where men were filmed while in public toilets in Suffolk.

He is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Monday, December 19.
