Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of cannabis plants estimated to be worth over €400,000.

As part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the County Offaly area, Gardaí from Edenderry carried out the planned search of a premises at Clonmore on Wednesday. 
 
During the late-night raid, Gardai seized cannabis plants with an estimated value of €250,000, pending analysis.
 
Yesterday, officers from Edenderry - assisted by Gardaí from the Tullamore District Drugs Unit - stopped and searched a vehicle close to Tullamore and seized a quantity of cannabis plants.
 
In a follow up search of a premises at Killy, Tullamore Gardaí seized more cannabis plants with an estimated value of €160,000.
 
Two men - aged 26 and 30 years - were arrested and are currently detained at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
