M50 southbound has reopened
The M50 southbound has reopened.

The Garda Siochana Traffic Twitter account has said the M50 will re-open just after 11am.

Reports indicate that the road will remain closed until Midday today.
A collision at junction 7 Lucan blocking the left, middle and right lane has led to the closure of the motorway.
A car is believed to have collided with a truck leaving one woman in a serious condition in hospital, full story here.

Reports indicate that the road will remain closed for another hour.

The closure has caused gridlock across the city as commuters try to find an alternative route to work. North Dublin has been particularly hard hit as commuters on the city's northside are unable to get to the south city via the M50.
Dublin Bus has been forced to divert several bus routes due to the accident, including the 25, 25a and 25b, 66, 66a and 66b.
