Wicklow woman Fiona Doyle said that her home has been evacuated after a pipe bomb was found nearby.

Doyle, whose father Patrick O'Brien (75) was jailed after pleading guilty to 16 charges of rape and indecent assault at Mackintosh Park, Pottery Road in Dun Laoighaire from 1973 to 1982, confirmed to independent.ie this morning that herself and her husband have been forced out of their home.

A spokesperson for the Defence Forces has said an army bomb disposal unit is on its way to Wexford.

"Someone has left a pipe bomb under my car. I can't believe it."

During her father's trial Fiona Doyle detailed how she was raped almost every night between 1973 and 1982.

O'Brien raped his daughter the night before she was to make her First Holy Communion. Fiona was just seven years old at the time. The brave woman told the court she believes her mother knew her dad planned to rape her that night.
