Boy made to beg for food by father put into care
A boy who was made to beg for food by his father has been placed into local authority care following family court hearings.
The youngster, now 16, had been locked in his room all day when living with his father, a judge heard.
He had also been physically abused and chastised.
Detail of the case has emerged in a ruling by Mr Justice Keehan following the latest hearing - in the Family Division of the High Court in London.
Mr Justice Keehan said the teenager had been treated "nastily" when living with his father and was a "deeply troubled young man" with "complex emotional and psychological" problems.
He said the boy has been made the subject of a care order.
The judge said no-one involved in the case could be identified.
He indicated that the boy's parents were separated.
The judge said he had also been asked to make decisions about the futures of other children in the family.
