A boy has been killed following collision between a truck and a pony-and-trap in west Dublin.

The incident is reported to have happened on on St Cuthberts Rd, Clondalkin this afternoon at approximately 1.40pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin. The two other boys that were also travelling on the pony and trap were uninjured and did not require hospital treatment.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene of the collision.
