Two schoolchildren hit by articulated truck in Dublin car park
A young child is said to be in a critical condition after being struck by an articulated lorry in an Ongar shopping centre car park on his way to school.
The young boy, believed to be five years old, was apparently struck by the large vehicle as he made his way to school with his father.
He was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
A source described how the collision occurred in a busy car park normally used by parents to drop their children to school, and that the young boy was being treated for injuries to his lungs.
The incident occurred at approximately 8.50am at a shopping centre in Ongar, west Dublin.
Another child also suffered minor injuries to her leg during the incident.
Officers from Blanchardstown garda station are investigation the road traffic collision and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
