A 14-year-old boy, and his brother, have been seriously injured following a farming accident in Carlow this morning.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) have confirmed they are investigating a farm accident that left two brothers critically injured.

It is understood that a young man was travelling in a tractor and trailer with his brother when the accident occurred close to Ballon, Co Carlow.

His brother is believed to be undergoing surgery in Kilkenny.

The HSA confirmed that they have been notified about the accident and said they are currently investigating.
