Bomb squad deployed to Tallaght
The Army Bomb Squad was deployed to Tallaght after a member of the public discovered a suspicious device.
A suspect device was spotted by a member of the public in a river in the Dodder Valley area.
A cordon was established and traffic restrictions were put in place
The EOD team arrived on scene at 3.05 pm and made the device safe at the scene.
It was heavily corroded and has been assessed as a 'legacy find,' a heavily weathered device that was exposed to the elements for some time.
The scene was declared safe at 4.20 pm.
Material was handed over to the Gardaí to assist them with their investigation.
There has been 142 call outs for the Army Bomb Disposal Team in 2015.
