A note suggesting a bomb was on board has caused a security alert on an Aer Lingus flight bound for Dublin this morning.

It is understood that the incident happened on a flight from Brussels to Dublin this morning after a note was found suggesting a bomb was on the plane.

All passengers were taken off the plane and at this stage it is believed that nothing was found.

Gardai are investigating the matter.

It is understood that there are no delays to flights in or out of Dublin Airport due to the alert.
