Body of unidentified man discovered in centre of roundabout after ‘a number of days’
The body of a man was discovered in a crashed car which had been hidden from view by trees, in the centre of a large roundabout in Galway.
The body is believed to have been there for a number of days.
Gardai in the city are now appealing for witnesses after the discovery was made at the Martin roundabout on the outskirts of Galway city.
The scene was only discovered when a bus passenger spotted a section of the car and notified gardai.
The man, who is believed to be in his 60s or 70s has not yet been identified. He was the sole occupant of the car.
Gardai believe the man died after his car collided with trees on the roundabout.
They believe he may have been at the scene for a number of days.
They are now appealing for anyone who had information on the crash to come forward.
The man's remains have been removed to Galway University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.
