The police have launched a probe after a teenager was found dead at an address in west Belfast yesterday.

He was found dead in his bed at Avoca Court, and as yet, attempts to find his relatives have been unsuccessful.

It is believed he was 19 years old.

Sinn Fein councillor Steven Corr said: "We haven't been able to establish any local connection, other than that the young man lived in the Avoca Court flats.

"It's very strange not to have been able to find any local family members.

"At this point we can only pray for the young man and for his family.

"I want to offer the family my sincere condolences on their tragic loss."

A postmortem will be carried out in order to establish the cause of death.
