A body has been found in the search for missing student Paul Tynan (23).

The body was discovered by members of Waterford Marine Search and Rescue, who were aided by gardai and members of Paul’s family, shortly after 11am this morning.

The electrical engineering student, who was originally from Bray, was last seen at the River Walk student accommodation complex in Waterford city during the early hours of Saturday January 23.

Paul's sister Lauren Tynan has paid tribute to her brother on social media.

"Never take what you have for granted especially when they're irreplaceable," Lauren wrote on her Facebook page.

"Funniest person and best brother in the world. Everyone be lost without you. Rip bro. Only the best die young."
