The bodies of those who perished in the Carrickmines fire tragedy are to be released after being formally identified.

In a statement released earlier this evening, those who died in the blaze were officially named.

The deceased have been formally identified as Thomas (27) and Sylvia Connors (25) and their children Jim (5), Christy (2) and five-month-old Mary, who it is believed will all be buried in Wexford.

Willie Lynch (25), his partner Tara Gilbert (27) and their children Kelsey (4) and Jodie (9), as well as Willie’s 39-year-old brother Jimmy are expected to have their funerals in Bray.

Southside Travellers and Bray Travellers Development Group said they have been supporting the families of the deceased through a very difficult time. They are assisting with preparations for funeral arrangements.

Talks are continuing into arrangements for temporary accommodation in the estate in Dun Laoghaire.

Southside Travellers has been told that dialogue over the temporary site off Glenamuck Road is continuing this evening.

Director of Southside Travellers said she hoped the site would be built as soon as possible “to allow the homeless families somewhere to live as they cope with their loss”.
