Bleak Irish weather to change by weekend as Saturday scorcher predicted
The current weather in Ireland suggests summer may be over but sunshine is on the way this weekend.
While it isn't cold out there today, it isn't dry either.
August has gotten off to a bad start in Irish weather terms but the good news is that by this weekend, summer should be returned to the country.
The week's forecast is more of the same, with a blustery, showery Wednesday expected while temperatures will remain the 16-20 degree range.
Thursday will be extremely similar, while Friday should be dryer apart from rainfall in Connacht and Ulster that night.
Saturday, on the other hand, will require suncream and ice-cream in equal measure.
The day is expected to be extremely warm, with lowest temperatures of 19 degrees to highs of 24.
While it will be cloudy, sunny breaks are expected as the midlands and the east of Ireland become the warmest areas of the country.
Sunday may see the return of some showers, while it will be a generally fresher day as breezes cause the temperature to drop slightly.
