The BBC has banned bananas from its Belfast HQ.

The blanket ban on the popular fruit has left office workers at Broadcasting House in Belfast city centre going bananas after they received an email warning them of a co-worker's allergy.

The message warned office workers that they are forbidden from bringing the tropical fruit to work.

But reports today have claimed that a Beeb boss forgot about the new fatwa on King Kong's favourite snack and slipped up!

For the allergy-prone worker was able to sense that someone had brought a banana into the office as they allegedly began to feel unwell.

The Beeb boss later had to make an apology.

Thankfully, the allergy sufferer didn't have to call the Peelers.
