Attempted robbery in Limavady

The police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Limavady on Friday morning.

The incident happened in the Irish Green Street area just before 8.00am.

A masked man entered the shop telling staff that he was carrying a gun. The man made off empty handed.

Later a man was arrested and released on Police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Cathy Thompson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that could assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
