At least 13 dead after bus carrying international students crashes in Spain

A bus carrying Erasmus students has crashed in Spain, killing at least 13 and injuring a number of others.

The bus was travelling on the AP-7 motorway near Tarragona when the crash happened at about 6am local time.

It is believed that the students had been travelling from a festival in las Fallas de Valencia.

Local media are reporting that 13 of the coach passengers were killed and that at least 30 others are seriously injured.

The students on the bus are reported to be from a number of countries but there is no information yet on exactly which countries they are from.

The coach is believed to have crossed the central reservation before crashing head-on with a car.
