Associates of Hutch family arrested in connection with Regency attack

The two men arrested tonight in connection with the attack on the Regency Hotel are associated with the Hutch family.

The two men, in their 50s and 30s ,are detained at Swords and Clonfarf Garda Stations under Section 50 of The Criminal Justice Act. 2007.

It is also being reported tonight that the two men arrested are related.

The brings to three the number of people who have been arrested as part of this murder investigation.

On Friday a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the Regency Hotel attack.

That man is suspected of being the so-called 'shooter in drag'

A close associate of Gary Hutch, whose murder in Spain in September last year sparked the bloody feud that has hit the capital in 2016, he was famously pictured fleeing the scene of the Regency Hotel shooting disguised as a woman.

He remains in custody.
During the Regency attack on February 5 hitmen, dressed as gardai and armed with AK47s, stormed the hotel during a boxing weigh-in and killed key Kinahan lieutenant David Byrne (34).

Since then a number of other figures have been killed in the capital as rival families clash on Dublin's streets.

One of those victim's was Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch's brother Eddie, who was shot in his home three days after the Regency attack.

Another of the Regency Hotel attackers, known as 'Flat Cap', is suspected of being in hding in Northern Ireland while earlier this week it was reported that another of the suspected Regency gunmen had fled to the North.
