Arsenio Hall sues Sinead O’Connor for €4.4million over Prince comments
American comic and former chat show host Arsenio Hall has launched a lawsuit against Sinead O’Connor amid claims that he spiked her drink and was fuelling Prince’s drug habit.
O’Connor took to social media to make her comments following the death of superstar Prince.
The pop star told her 612k Facebook followers:
Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades.... Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince's and Eddie Murphy's bitch) Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sherrif's office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy's house. You best get tidying your man cave.”
However, Arsenio Hall is vehemently denying the allegations, calling O’Connor a "desperate, attention-seeker ... now known perhaps as much for her bizarre, unhinged internet rants as for her music."
Hall states through the lawsuit that he hasn't had any contact with O'Connor in 25-years and that her accusation of criminal conduct is "extraordinarily damaging" to his reputation.
According to CNN the lawsuit reads:
Sinead O'Connor has maliciously published outlandish defamatory lies about comedian Arsenio Hall, falsely accusing him of supplying illegal 'hard drugs' 'over the decades' to the recently deceased music artist, Prince, and of spiking her with drugs once years ago."
"Hall will not stand idly by while O'Connor attempts to get attention for herself by recklessly spreading malicious, vile lies that he engaged in egregious criminal conduct which falsely links Hall to Prince's death."
