Arrest in relation to death of young man found with head injuries on Christmas day
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the death of another man who was found with serious head injuries on Christmas day, gardai have said.
Gardai in Waterford investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the seriously injured male in Waterford and his subsequent death have arrested a male.
At approximately 8pm on Christmas day a male in his 20s was discovered with head injuries on Margaret’s Avenue in the city.
He was taken to Waterford University Hospital with injuries described as serious but unfortunately was pronounced dead yesterday evening. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted this afternoon by the State Pathologist Dr. Marie Cassidy.
Gardai investigating the death arrested a male in his 40s this morning in the Waterford City area. He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Waterford Garda Station.
