Armed raiders rob cash-in-transit van in Meath

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that occurred on Main Street Duleek, County Meath this morning at approximately 10.15am.

As cash in transit security staff were transferring cash to a business premises when they were approached and threatened by two men.

One of the men was believed to be armed with an iron bar.

The two raiders took an amount of cash and fled the scene in a van described as being a Silver Ford Transit with a partial registration number 01 WW.

Both men were wearing balaclavas and gardai have not provided a more detailed description at present.

The van travelled through Main Street Duleek in the direction of Drogheda and was discovered a short time later, burnt out, at the rear of the old grave yard, Duleek.
