Appeal after pipe bomb explodes outside house

Police are appealing for information after a pipe bomb exploded outside a house in Derry.

The incident happened on Monday at a house in the Sperrin Park area at around 11pm.

There were no reports of anyone being injured following the incident.

 ATO examined what was left of the pipe bomb at Waterside Police station before sending the remains on for further investigation.

Detectives are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.  Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact Detective Sergeant Brian Reid at Strand Road Station on 101 quoting reference number 1472 of 26/09/16.  If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
