Apartment where killer brought Karen Buckley’s body back on the market
The Glasgow apartment where evil Alex Pacteau brought the body of Irish student Karen Buckley has been put back on the market, priced at £675 (€932) per month.
Despite the apartment’s grizzly connection to the murder, the advert on the Central Lettings Services’ website boasts of the apartment’s location and travel links.
This apartment benefits from two double bedrooms, a single bedroom, kitchen off the lounge, bathroom with shower and is decorated with neutral decor. The property also features double glazing , a fitted kitchen, gas central heating and is available unfurnished.
The location is well placed for travel links including Kelvindale and Anniesland train stations. The area has good public transport road links to Glasgow City Centre and local amenities nearby.
A neighbour told The Star: "Any potential renter should be told what happened in that flat."
21-year-old Pacteau bludgeoned Karen Buckley to death with a spanner after meeting her in a Glasgow nightclub.
The thug then went shopping for caustic soda before bringing her body back to his flat where he placed her body in the bath.
Prospective renters are not informed about the apartment's history
A major search followed and the 24-year-old nurse’s remains were eventually found in a barrel on farmland outside Glasgow.
Pacteau was sentenced to a minimum of 23-years behind bars, which he is currently appealing.
