Another tragedy on the roads as female pedestrian killed in Wexford

A woman has died from her injuries after being hit by a car outside Wexford town.

The woman, who was a pedestrian, died after being struck by a car on the N25 Wexford to Rosslare road at Kellystown, Drinagh around 1.30am this morning.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital – but her identity has not yet been revealed.

The driver of the car was a 21-year-old man who was uninjured in the crash.

Diversions are in place at the scene as the road remains closed.

It was the second tragedy on our roads overnight after a 22-year-old male was killed at Gaulstown in Kilkenny at around 3am this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Wexford Garda Station on 053 9165200.
