Aer Lingus flight from Dublin makes emergency landing over fears for unresponsive woman

An early morning Aer Lingus flight to Vienna was forced to make an emergency landing in Frankfurt after an elderly woman became ill on the plane.

The flight, which left Dublin at 7am this morning, was 35 minutes from Vienna airport when it made the emergency landing shortly after 9.30am.

The woman, who was unresponsive, was treated on the plane by passengers with medical training until it landed.

Two ambulances were waiting for the woman at Frankfurt airport in Germany.

Four paramedics attended to the woman who was carried off the plane.
