Detectives investigating an explosion at Palace Barracks in County Down last August have arrested a 60-year-old man in Belfast.

Detective Inspector Stuart Griffin, from Serious Crime Branch, said: “The explosion took place in a postal vehicle inside the military complex on 14 August 2015. Thankfully, no one was injured but a number of vehicles were damaged. Police enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101.”

The suspect was arrested this morning after a search was carried out and is currently being questioned by police.
