51-year-old arrested by cops investigating Belfast attempted murder

A man has been remanded in custody in connection with shooting in North Belfast.

Paul Francis Magee, of Knutsford Drive in Belfast, appeared this morning at Belfast's Magistrate's Court.

He stands accused of attempted murder and possession of a firearm or an imitation firearm with intent to commit attempted murder.

The gun used in the attack has not been recovered and the police said that Magee refused to answer any questions put to him. 

The victim of the shooting, which happened on Monday, May 9, identified Magee from his hospital bed.
