12 people treated in hospital after LUAS crash

Gardai are appealing for witnesses of a collision between a LUAS and a car last night that resulted in a dozen people being treated in hospital.

Gardaí are investigating the collision, which occurred at the junction of Suir Road and Davitt Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12 at approximately 10.20pm last night.

A car collided with a Luas tram which was traveling on the 'Red Line'. 

Gardaí and Emergency Services attended the scene.

A total of twelve people, ten males and two females, aged from late teens to mid 30s, required medical assistance and were taken to Saint James' and Tallaght Hospitals with non serious injuries.

The road junction was closed for a short period of time and has since reopened.
