UFC UNDISPUTED 2010 PS3, Xbox 360
GET ready to fight harder and faster than ever before.
UFC Undisputed 2010, developed by Yuke's and published by THQ, hits you with all the action, intensity and authenticity of UFC.
The game is the second instalment in the franchise and, based on the sport's popularity and the quality of the title itself, is bound to be a hit.
The changes and refinements have improved the overall experience, which was pretty good to begin with.
There are new moves, styles and fighters, the gameplay is more thorough and the replay value has gone through the roof.
For those who like to be tangled and mangled on the canvas with submission holds, there is the ability to switch between submissions such as kimura to armbar.
Now clicking in the right stick must be used to strengthen the hold and get your opponent to submit.
As far as the clinch game is concerned, the best tactics are much more about transitioning than finding a way into the Muay Thai clinch.
The introduction of cage work to the franchise has made fighting more realistic and the new rocked (when you knock your opponent into a Fight Night-style grey-hazed state) stage is a nice touch.
The gameplay does take some getting used to and patience is required to master all the moves. Besides that the gameplay additions, the career mode has been overhauled.
Now players are able to choose moves as they see fit and customise the fighter they want. Like in the Fight Night career mode, your schedule is planned out and each week leading up to a fight, you can do fitness training, spar, rest or go to a fight camp.
These actions must be balanced out though as conditioning and fatigue counter-act each other and a premium level must be found
before each fight to get the most from your fighter.
As well as the epic career mode you can have 16-player tournaments, pit your toughness against the best fighters in Title Mode, and try your hand at classic fights packing specific objectives in Ultimate Fights Mode.
UFC Undisputed 2010 is top MMA title and fans of the genre will be more than happy with the overall package.
THQ and UFC have both put some serious time and money into creating a new franchise in a difficult climate and have come up
trumps with another knockout of a game.
