The Ireland players and staff returned home to a hero's welcome in Dublin this afternoon.

The Ireland squad touched down in Dublin today after yesterday afternoon's spirited 2-1 defeat to France in the round of 16.

The Boys in Green were welcomed home by hundreds at Dublin Airport after getting the nation on the edge of their seats over the course of Euro 2016, particularly in the victory over Italy and yesterday in Lyon.

Robbie Keane addressed the crowd assembled in north Dublin, stating that both himself and the entire squad are "proud Irishmen".

It's safe to say that the whole country was proud of the team's efforts in France.
