Specsavers offered up the tweet of the night as the Irish nation was brought to a state of breaking point - and ultimately a joyous eruption as a win against Italy secure our place in the last-16 of Euro 2016.

Referee Ovidiu Hategan infuriated Ireland fans with some desperate decisions that sent Twitter into meltdown, with his refusal to hand James McClean a penalty after he was bundled over in the box sparking suggestions that the match officials were working against Ireland.

That inspired Specsavers to offer up a tweet that attracted huge interest during the match, as they suggested the referee may pay a visit to one of their stores.

Of course, the Irish gripes were quickly forgotten as Robbie Brady snatch his historic late winner to see off Italy and secure Ireland's place in the last-16 of Euro 2016.
