A HOLY relic of St Anthony – Ireland’s favourite saint and the patron of lost causes – landed in Knock on Saturday, just in time to give Martin O’Neill’s men some divine intervention.

The remains of St Anthony’s floating rib were on show at the holy shrine in Knock as part of a nationwide tour.

And the Sunday World made sure to send along an Irish jersey to give our team the rub of the relic.

There’s no such thing as a lost cause for the boys in green, but we can always use a little extra help!

The relics will be in Sligo today before moving to Dublin’s Pro Cathedral tomorrow and Longford, Armagh and Derry during the week.
