Tyne-Lexy Clarson waves goodbye to Love Island after just a week

Tyne-Lexy Clarson's time on Love Island came to an end after just a week when none of the boys chose to couple up with her on Sunday night's (18Jun17) episode of the matchmaking show.

The student from Birmingham made her big entrance into the Mallorcan villa seven days ago, after admitting she had set her sights on Chris Hughes. But after failing to connect with Chris or any of the other guys on the ITV2 programme, Tyne-Lexy was forced to say her goodbyes on Sunday's show.

The recoupling began with Kem Cetinay choosing Amber Davies, who he pledged his love to by giving an infinity bracelet earlier in the week, before Sam Gowland coupled up with Montana Brown and Marcel Somerville chose Gabby Allen. Dom Lever coupled up with Jessica Shears but the scandal began when newcomer Mike Thalassitis chose to couple up with Olivia Attwood, leaving Chris floundering and eventually opting to return to his former partner Chloe Crowhurst.

Jonny Mitchell was the last boy to choose, and had the choice of Tyne-Lexy or Camilla Thurlow, with whom he was previously coupled. However, the pair's relationship appeared to have come to a grinding halt after the pair disagreed about feminism in a fiery row.

But Jonny didn't let the argument put him off looking into the future with Camilla, explaining when he made his decision: "I want to couple up with this girl because she’s been a massive part of my journey. She helped me come out of my shell a lot and I’m really enjoying seeing her come out of her shell too.

"I feel like she’s got so much more to give and I really want to see what else she’s got in her.”

Tyne-Lexy didn't look too surprised by Jonny's decision, and gave her fellow contestants warm hugs before making her exit.

Speaking about her departure, Tyne-Lexy said afterwards: "It all felt quite surreal. I'm sad but I'm trying to have a positive outlook on it and obviously I've been given a great opportunity and experience being in there for a full week and I've left with some great friendships."
