Top Gear trio back for Amazon Prime show
Jeremy Clarkson can't wait to work with his former Top Gear presenters on a new show.
The 55-year-old star had hosted the successful car series as a trio alongside Richard Hammond and James May until earlier this year when Jeremy was fired over punching a producer.
It has since been confirmed Chris Evans is to take over the popular programme, but Jeremy isn't missing out at it was revealed this morning that he will present with his pals once again on a show for Amazon Prime.
Produced by former Top Gear executive Andy Wilman, the show will air next year and will see the three men back in their fast car element.
"I'm very excited to announce that Hammond, May and I have signed a deal with .@AmazonVideo," Jeremy wrote on Twitter.
"@AmazonVideoUK now saying I can't be their chief drone pilot. Apparently they want us to make a car show (sic)."
Richard too shared his delight, telling his followers it was time to get a hair cut, a new pair of jeans and practice driving again in preparation.
James didn't miss out on commenting on the news either, joking: "Good news! I've got a job with @AmazonVideoUK. Bad news! So have the other two. #AmazonPrime #ItSaysHere (sic)"
Jeremy initially got fans excited last month when he revealed there was a new car show on the way.
It isn't just the stars who are happy; Jay Marine, Amazon Prime Video EU’s vice president, knows the company has made the right decision for fans wanting to see the clan reunited. Jay is optimistic about its success next year.
“Millions of Prime members are already enjoying our ground-breaking original shows. We can’t wait to see what Jeremy, Richard, James and the team will create in what is sure to be one of the most globally anticipated shows of 2016," he said in a statement.
The show has yet to be named, but London Evening Standard newspaper reports the deal sees a minimum of three series and that an Amazon insider calls the move a "significant investment".
Top Gear was relaunched in 2002 and the three men made it a hit all around the globe, with famous names including Hugh Grant, Ewan McGregor, Eric Bana and Sienna Miller all jumping at the chance to get involved.
