The X Factor's Matt Terry and Saara Aalto to perform together in Finland
The X Factor winner Matt Terry and runner-up Saara Aalto are teaming up for a performance in Finland.
Since the singing competition finished in December (16) and the two finalists were given record deals, they have both been working on their respective albums and rehearsing for The X Factor tour, which begins in Nottingham on 23 February (17).
Once the tour is over, they will be going their separate ways, so Finland-born star Saara asked Matt to come perform with her at an arena concert in Helsinki on 15 April (17).
"It's going to be great," she said on Good Morning Britain. "Thirteen thousand people are coming and I really wanted to bring a part of X Factor with me to Finland, so Matt is coming to Finland to sing with me on my arena concert, which is really great. I can't wait to sing with you."
Matt remarked on how far they had come since their first meeting, adding, "We met the first time on the coach at boot camp. She was the first person I spoke to - I was carrying her suitcases. To think we'd both be in the final together and now we're going to Helsinki together."
They have both been writing their own material for their albums, although Matt confirmed he has received a song written by Sam Smith which is "absolutely incredible". While Saara also confirmed speculation that she had been sent a song by Sia, adding, "It feels so surreal".
The X Factor acts, including 5 After Midnight, Emily Middlemas and Honey G, have been reunited this week (begs13Feb17) for a full group rehearsal and Matt enjoyed being back with his old X Factor housemates.
"It's been great," he said, while Saara added, "It's so easy when we know each other so well. We spent so much time together in that house so it's like getting back together."
