Simon Cowell 'courted Goldie Hawn to be BGT judge'

Simon Cowell considered hiring Goldie Hawn as a judge for TV show Britain's Got Talent.

The music mogul appears to have found a dream team in the form of Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, who have completed the judging panel alongside Cowell for the past five years.

However, before his three fellow judges had signed on the dotted line for this year's series (16) of the show, Cowell is reported to have considered a surprising new name for the panel.

According to The Sun, Cowell held secret talks last year (15) with Hollywood actress Goldie, after being impressed with her appearance as a guest panellist on fellow ITV show Loose Women back in October (15).

"Goldie’s not just a huge name, she’s got a brilliant sense of humour and isn’t afraid to say what she thinks," a source told the newspaper. "She’s like an even more glamorous Sharon Osbourne.

"However, Simon loves having David, Amanda and Alesha by his side and as soon as they agreed to join him again he ended all other discussions."

The news comes after Cowell was asked to rank all the judges over the past 10 years on Britain's Got Talent in his order of favourites during a recent episode of the spinoff show Britain's Got More Talent.

Unsurprisingly, Cowell put himself first, followed by model and actress Carmen Electra. Alesha Dixon was in third place, followed by Kelly Brook, while Amanda Holden made it into fifth - a position she certainly wasn't happy with.

Louis Walsh was in sixth, Piers Morgan seventh and David Hasselhoff came in eighth position. Comedian Michael McIntyre finished in ninth place while Cowell put David Walliams, with whom he has a love-hate relationship, in last position.

Former Little Britain comedian Walliams has made it his mission to mock Cowell throughout the series, which viewers appear to love.

However, Walliams was less than impressed that he was last in Cowell's books.
