Sam Faiers sparks family row after announcing plans to move
Sam Faiers left her family stunned by announcing she is thinking about moving out of Essex on Wednesday night's (12Oct16) episode of The Mummy Diaries.
The 25-year-old star has become synonymous with her home county, thanks to her appearance on reality show The Only Way Is Essex.
However, in the premiere episode of her new programme on Wednesday, Sam revealed that since having her son Paul, she and partner Paul Sr. have spoken about moving away to a different location - like Surrey.
"We're looking for a house for our first family home. We want land. I want chickens, a goat, donkeys, probably a horse at some stage," she explained. "It's the natural progression. You meet someone have babies, get married, get a house. Its only an hour away. It's a new start.
"We want to start house-hunting. I don't know why Surrey. I've been a few times. You've got tea rooms and cobbled streets. The estate agent took our details. It's gonna be a process. We're quite particular."
But the couple's decision didn't go down too well with their respective families.
Sam and Paul Sr. decided to broach the news with his mother Gaynor first, and while she initially seemed receptive to the idea, she later revealed during a solo interview to camera that she wouldn't allow her son to move far away from her.
"They're talking about moving. But wherever they go, I'll go," she said. "Whether it's travelling or living, I'll get closer. (Speaking to baby Paul) You want brothers and sisters to play with. We want more."
Later in the episode, Sam was seen flying out to Majorca for a family break with her mum Sue and sister Billie.
Out to dinner in Palma, Sam decided to bring up the subject of a potential move, telling her relatives: "The other day we started ringing estate agents and for some reason I like Surrey."
Clearly shocked by her sister's news, Billie asked: "What's making you wanna move out of the area? I was shocked because why would you want to live there? I think you'd feel isolated. You have no friends and family. I think it's quite selfish. You wouldn't be able to just pop to the office."
Billie and Sam run Minnie's Boutique together in Brentwood.
A teaser clip from next week's episode showed that Sam's row with her family about moving to Surrey isn't going to be resolved anytime soon.
