Rupert Everett has been cast as a villain in 'The Musketeers'.

The 55-year-old actor will play the new antagonist in series three of the action-packed BBC show, which is inspired by Alexandre Dumas' novel.

No other details about Everett's character have been revealed.

He will be joined in the cast by 'Jamaica Inn' star Matthew McNulty, who will play money lender and violent criminal Lucien Grimaud who takes on The Musketeers.

All four actors who portray the main heroes, Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera, Howard Charles and Luke Pasqualino, are returning to the show as well as prominent cast members Hugo Speer, Ryan Gage, Alexandra Dowling and Tamla Kari.
