Piers Morgan to co-host Good Morning Britain
Piers Morgan has been confirmed as a permanent member of the 'Good Morning Britain' presenting team.
The 50-year-old TV personality is to co-host the show alongside Susanna Reid three days a week from November, having guest hosted the show on a number of occasions earlier this year.
Piers said: "I am very excited at the prospect of waking up at 3am every morning, and even more excited by the thought of how annoying Susanna is going to find me after a few months.
"'Good Morning Britain' is a great show with a terrific team on and off screen. I'm looking forward to it enormously."
Piers also confirmed the news on Twitter, joking that his new co-host may not be looking forward to the prospect.
He wrote: "BREAKING NEWS: It's official - I am joining @GMB as co-host with @susannareid100 from November. Brace yourselves Britain.
"Just arrived @ITV @GMB to be greeted by @susannareid100 in a dressing gown, high heels & semblance of a grin. Or may have been a grimace. (sic)"
The announcement comes shortly after Piers confirmed he'd been in talks to present the show, but revealed his involvement was being delayed by his appearance in a paid ad campaign.
He previously said: "I like 'Good Morning Britain'. I had a great time doing it and I may as well tell the truth about it. We've been talking about me having a more permanent slot there, which I would really enjoy because it was really good fun.
"But the problem was created by I did a big advert for Camelot the National Lottery but there's a bit of a clash if you do a commercial and you're doing a news current affairs show, as 'Good Morning Britain' is classified.
"We're trying to work through it and if we do then you'll be waking up to me in the morning."
