Paul Hollywood spotted arriving for secret meeting with Channel 4
Paul Hollywood looked furtive as he arrived for a secret meeting with Channel 4 on Wednesday (21Sep16) about his future with The Great British Bake Off.
The baking legend has enjoyed a huge rise to fame thanks to his role as a judge on the BBC's programme alongside Mary Berry. Following the news that the show will be moving to Channel 4 next year (17), Paul and Mary's involvement in the revamped series has been much debated.
But the silver fox appeared to suggest he is considering going with the programme as he was seen arriving in a blacked out car for his top secret meeting.
According to the Daily Mail Online, Paul sat in the blacked out car and waited until a chaperone arrived to escort him into the Channel 4 headquarters via a back door.
Paul attempted to keep his head down as he walked swiftly into the building, and was noticeably without sidekick Mary. However, the outlet reports Mary is also in discussions with Channel 4 about moving.
Presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc left viewers devastated when they announced they would not be going to Channel 4, saying in a joint statement that they won't be "going with the dough".
Meanwhile, much-loved baker Val Stones was the latest contestant to be eliminated from the show after Wednesday night's episode.
The retired headmistress had become a favourite on the programme thanks to her eccentric behaviour, which included doing some keep fit while waiting for her offerings to cook.
However, she failed to impress Paul and Mary during pastry week, with the judges opting to send her home. In her exit interview, Val struggled to control her emotions as she told the camera: "I'm not unhappy. I had a great time with some great people - and I didn't expect it. I didn't expect to ever get here, never mind be on it... When you bake, you always bake for a reason - because you're giving something to people.
"You're giving it to people so you do the best you can and make bake(s) with love. Whenever I make anything, I stir love into it and I knead love into it so when I present it, it's special. Of course I was disappointed but you have to just go with it. Somebody has got to have a soggy bottom, so it might as well be me."
