Ollie Locke to come out as gay on Made in Chelsea spin-off
Ollie Locke is set to come out as gay in the upcoming Made in Chelsea spin-off series, South of France.
The 28-year-old, who previously described himself as bisexual on the reality show, has dated a number of women including Chloe Green, the daughter of retail tycoon Sir Philip Green, Made in Chelsea co-star Ashley James and most recently, girlfriend Catherine Louise Radford.
He split with Catherine last year (15) and has now decided he's ready for a homosexual relationship, which he reveals during the show's six-part summer special, Made In Chelsea: South of France.
“It’s the first time the viewers have seen me as gay instead of bi," he tells Britain's The Sun newspaper. “I do say the words, ‘I am a gay man’... For me, this is a big series because I’m talking very openly about gay life, which I have never really done before.
“I lived with a woman last year when I was off camera... And then we broke up and in December I thought, ‘That’s it now, I think I’m now gay.' I want to experience my first real gay relationship, whether that’s on or off camera, I don’t mind... But I want to have one... I’m ready.”
Ollie previously told Star magazine in 2013 that most people assume he is gay anyway and he regularly receives tweets from users telling him to come out of the closet. He admitted he tried to "push" himself to be gay but he's too attracted to women.
"If I could (come out), then I would," he said. "But I’m just not there, I’m really not. I am not lying to anyone, I am not gay. I still have amazing relationships with women.”
Ollie was a series regular in the show from season one to five and returned after a two-year break for the Los Angeles special last year (15).
Francis Boulle is returning for the France special, which is set in Cannes, and will be joined by cast members including Alex Mytton, Stephanie Pratt, Louise Thompson, Binky Felstead, and Jamie Laing.
Made In Chelsea: South of France begins on 1 August (16).
