Montana Brown and Alex Beattie become first official Love Island couple to split

Montana Brown confirmed her split from Love Island boyfriend Alex Beattie on Tuesday (08Aug17), blaming his changes since leaving the villa for the demise of their relationship.

The pair appeared to have found love after Alex made a late entrance onto the ITV2 show, with the buff but boring star quickly confessing his love for pretty Montana.

Since the programme came to an end, Montana and Alex have been at the centre of split rumours, which they had denied, but on Tuesday they confirmed they had called time on their romance.

In a post on Instagram, Montana laid the blame entirely on her former beau, writing: "Alex and I have decided to split. Making our relationship work on the outside has been hard. He hasn’t been the same since coming out of the villa. Despite this we are still close and I will always support him."

Confirming the break-up, Alex tweeted a similar statement on his Instagram, but didn't further her claims that their split was his fault.

"Me and Montana met yesterday and have decided that it’s best to call it a day with our relationship," he wrote. "It’s been very hard on the outside to make us work how we desired. I still have strong feelings towards her and will be remaining close friends and supporting her thoughout (sic) everything."

According to reports, Montana's refusal to post a picture with Alex on her social media was one of the reasons for the end of their relationship.

"Alex watched all the other couples happily post photos on Instagram and begged Montana to do the same so he knew her heart was in the right place – but she refused," a source told The Sun. "The only pictures on her page of Alex and her were uploaded by friends and family when she was still in the villa. Alex feels very hurt and humiliated."

Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies, Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt and Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes are the three Love Island couples still together following the show's conclusion, though Chris and Olivia were hit with cheating rumours after photos surfaced of the blonde beauty with her ex, footballer Bradley Dacks.
