Louis Walsh: There’s no one like Simon Cowell

Louis Walsh still has late night phone calls with Simon Cowell despite no longer being a judge on The X Factor.

The 63-year-old sat alongside the music mogul for a number of years, having been on the panel of the hit ITV singing show for 11 series. The Irishman did not return for the show’s current run, instead being replaced by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. But despite his lack of involvement with the programme, Louis is still on call for Simon whenever he needs to chat.

“I talk to Simon all the time, I spoke to him last night at 1.30am,” he told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “We were talking about everything but, in particular, music. We both love it, it’s our common denominator.”

Despite leaving the ITV show, the former Westlife and Boyzone manager is still on good terms with his former boss. “Simon and I always had a great relationship on the show and I adore working with him,” Louis added. “There is nobody like Simon.”

The SiCo boss celebrated his 56th birthday on Wednesday (07Oct15) and according to Britain’s the Mirror newspaper, the millionaire hoped for an extravagant birthday present.

“I would like a flying car,” he said. “I saw one and I read about it in Top Gear recently. I thought God if there is anything I want, that is it. It is the most coolest thing. If they can actually make one that would be top of my list. I want the flying car. I’m easy to buy for.”

The £400,000, 200mph, four seater TF-X flying car won’t be out until around 2023. But US maker Terrafugia is taking reservations for its Transition, a light plane that turns into a car, which is due out sooner.
