Lorraine Kelly wants David Bowie for TV show
Lorraine Kelly's dream talk show guests are US First Lady Michelle Obama and David Bowie.
The 56-year-old star has been working in TV for well over 30 years, interviewing many of the biggest names in showbiz. That doesn't mean she's achieved all her dreams though, as there are still some people she'd love to have on her sofa.
"I've been very lucky to interview a lot of people I admire on my show from Hugh Jackman who is always lovely to Oprah Winfrey," she told Cover Media exclusively. "I would love Michelle Obama and David Bowie."
The star's breakfast show Lorraine features a blend of star interviews, fashion updates and food news, meaning she spends a lot of time taste testing. This can mean tucking into dinners before 9am, but it's all part of the job and something she's got used to.
"I'm a massive foodie but I'm not a good cook so it's lucky that my husband is great at cooking!" she laughed. "I'm the first one to have a pie when I go to the football and I don't deprive myself of anything.
"I'm not a fussy eater so that rarely happens (that I dislike something on the show) although I don't tend to go for fancy food I like proper meals instead."
Another downside of being surrounded by grub could be weight gain, but luckily Lorraine has that in check. She's recently dropped some pounds and released a fitness DVD called Lorraine Living to the Max, which showcases the workouts which have helped her get in shape. It also features fitness expert Maxine Jones, who the talk show host credits with making exercise fun for her.
"It's never too late to start," Lorraine enthused. "I feel better now at 56 than I did in my 20s, 30s and 40s - doing the classes and this DVD has changed my life. I can now show off the tops of my arms which I never did before and I have a waist for the first time.
"I have more energy even after the classes and doing the DVD and you see results! For me I lost weight a while back but we all know the hardest thing is keeping the weight off which I have managed to do."
